Installing The Foundry MODO 16.1v8 on Mac Using the Terminal

If you need to install Modo on render machines using the Terminal, follow these steps:

Before proceeding, ensure that you have downloaded the correct installer for your operating system from our website at 'The Foundry's website'. Once you have downloaded the installation file, use a command-line interface like Terminal to install Modo.

To start, move to the directory where you saved the installation file using the cd (change directory) command. For example, if you saved the file in /home/user1/Downloads, issue the following command and press Return:

cd /home/user1/Downloads

Next, navigate to the installer by issuing the following command:

sh Modo_16.1v8_macosx_intel.sh

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

Alternatively, you can install Modo remotely from the Terminal using silent mode. This method requires you to agree to the terms of the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) before installing Modo. To do this, issue the following command:

sh -s -i Modo_16.1v8_macosx_intel.sh

Note that by installing Modo silently, you agree to the terms of the EULA.

If you didn't add a license key during installation, you will need to do so now. By default, Modo is installed to the directory where you saved the installer file.

After installation, Modo can be run from either desktop icons, the browser, or from the Terminal using arguments.
